On Saturday 27th April, Aching Arms had the privilege to be invited to play against Sands United London, in a match to commemorate what would have been Winter-Rose’s 6th Birthday.
We were honoured for her dad, Michael, to captain Aching Arms for the first half of the match. It was a closely fought contest which ended in a 2-2 draw and following a tense penalty shoot-out, with some outstanding saves by both goal keepers, Aching Arms won the match. However, the real winner was the bonds formed between the players, once again serving as a reminder that even in the face of loss, comfort can be found in the company of others who have endured similar heartache. We send a big thank you to all the families and friends that came to support both teams and to the Meridian Sports and Social Club for being welcoming hosts.
